Okra

Ingredients

2 cups okra

Directions:

Okra is very common in recipes from the northeastern part of Brazil. The problem is that many of these recipes have other ingredients that we do not have in the United States.

When choosing okra, test to be sure it is new okra by bending the two points together—they should not break. If they do break, it means they will be too tough and fibrous. Okra should be washed before cutting the two ends off. To reduce the slippery quality of the vegetable, put a few drops of lemon in the water before cooking.
