Biscuits and Sausage Gravy

Ingredients

3 cups biscuit mix
3/4 cup milk
1/2 pound pork sausage
1/2 stick margarine
1/3 cup flour
3 1/2 cups milk
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper

Directions:

Combine biscuit mix and milk; stir. Roll dough on floured wax paper to 3/4-inch thickness; cut with biscuit cutter. Place on a greased baking sheet. Bake at 400° for 12–15 minutes or until golden.

For gravy, crumble and brown sausage in skillet. Drain, reserving 1 tablespoon drippings in skillet. Set sausage aside. Add margarine to drippings; melt margarine. Add flour and cook 1 minute, stirring constantly. Gradually add milk; cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until thickened. Stir in seasonings and sausage. Cook until heated, stirring constantly. Serve sausage gravy over cooked biscuits.
