3 apples
4 teaspoons butter
1 cup flour
1 cup milk
6 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 cup powdered sugar

Turn oven to 450 and place cast-iron skillet in oven while preparing ingredients. Cut apples into thin wedges. In a heavy skillet melt 2 tablespoons butter and sauté apples. Place flour, milk, eggs, vanilla, salt and nutmeg in blender in order given. Blend until mixed. Remove skillet from oven and melt remaining 2 tablespoons butter. Quickly arrange sautéed apples in skillet and pour batter over apples. Place in 450 oven and bake 15 minutes. Reduce oven temperature to 375 and bake 10 minutes longer. Sprinkle with powdered sugar, slice into wedges and serve with maple syrup.
