1 cup sugar
1 egg, beaten
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
1/2 cup milk
1/4 cup butter, melted
1/3 to 1/2 cup cinnamon-sugar

Directions:

Using an electric mixer on medium speed, blend shortening and sugar until smooth; add egg and beat well. Whisk flour, baking powder and nutmeg together; blend in milk. Remove muffins from tin and roll in melted butter; immediately toss in cinnamon-sugar.

Snow shovels are a must-have for snowy winters, and they also make fun welcome signs. Simply give the shovel 2 coats of chalkboard paint. Once dry, prop it by the door and write cheery greetings for friends, neighbors, even the letter carrier!
