Two weeks ago, I told you about one of my favorite new Cook'n features: Comments on Recently Made recipes!

At the time, Comments were available in Cook'n for iOS only.

Well...as of yesterday, they're on the Cook'n Desktop App too! Woohoo!

When you launch Cook'n on your computer, take a look at the Recently Made recipes on the Cook'n Home Page.

At the bottom of each recipe, you'll now see three little icons:

👍 Likes
💬 Comments
👁 Views

That new Comments icon in the middle tells you how many comments people have left on the recipe.

And here's where it gets fun...

People Are Already Talking!

Click on a Recently Made recipe and you can read the comments people have left...or add one of your own!

And our Cook'n faithful are already putting it to good use.

For example, Jeffrey Brown recently shared his Manhattan Clam Chowder. Andrea Rhoda saw it and asked:

“Wow, lots of clams, does this have a stew-like consistency when finished?”

Jeffrey replied:

“Andrea, it can. I wait until the end to judge and if it is too stew-ie (is that a word?), I add some more clam juice to thin it a bit.”

I LOVE THIS!

This is exactly what I hoped would happen when we started adding these social features to Cook'n.

We're not just sharing recipes anymore. We're talking about them! We're asking questions, sharing tips, thanking each other, and learning from the people who actually made the food.

Here's another example.

Roger Snider shared his Chicken Parmigiana, saying it was a favorite he saves for special occasions.

Cathy McKenzie commented:

“Thanks Roger. Chicken Parmesan is my daughter's favorite dish so when her birthday comes around, you could be sure I will make this for her!”

How cool is that?

Roger shared something he loves...and now it may become part of another family's birthday celebration.

That's what recipes are all about! ❤️

And There's Another New Desktop Feature!

Remember when I told you that iOS users can now see who Liked their recipes?

That's on the Cook'n Desktop App now too!

Before, you could see how many Likes your recipe received. Now, click the Likes icon and you can see who gave you those Likes!

So if you share Grandma's famous chocolate cake and 13 people give it a thumbs-up, you don't just see the number 13 anymore. You can see the actual Cook'n friends who enjoyed what you shared.

Little by little, Cook'n is becoming more than a place to store recipes. It's becoming a place where people who love food can connect with each other.

And speaking of sharing recipes and ideas with each other...

22 DOZEN EARS OF CORN!

Yep. Kathy and our daughter-in-law Kenzie froze 264 ears of fresh, sugar-sweet corn!

We've been freezing corn every year for about 30 years.

But this year it was easier and faster than it has EVER been.

And you'll never guess where we learned the trick...

Last year, Alice Osborne wrote an article for us about freezing fresh corn and showed us a little corn-cutting tool she uses.

We read the article. We bought the cutter.

And now, after doing 22 dozen ears with it, I have just one thing to say:

THIS THING IS THE BOMB!!
