Cheddar-Dill Bread

Ingredients

2 cups self-rising flour
1 tablespoon sugar
1/4 cup butter
1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
2 teaspoons dill weed
1 egg
3/4 cup milk

Directions:

In a large bowl, combine flour and sugar. Cut in butter with 2 knives until crumbly; stir in cheese and dill. In a small bowl, beat egg and milk; add to flour mixture and stir just until moistened. Batter will be thick. Spoon into a greased 9"x5" loaf pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 35 to 40 minutes, until bread tests done with a toothpick inserted in the center. Cool loaf in pan 10 minutes; turn out of pan and serve warm.

Tip: Get rid of an onion smell on your hands...simply hold your hands under cold running water while rubbing them with a stainless steel spoon.
