Basic Iced Tea


Serves: 6
Total Calories: 4

Ingredients

8 cups cold water
12 tea bags or 1/4 cup loose tea
ice, cubes
lemon slices
fresh mint leaves
granulated sugar (optional)

Directions:

In a large saucepan over high heat, bring the water to a boil. Add the tea, stir, and let steep for 3 to 5 minutes. Remove the tea bags or strain the tea. Allow to cool to room temperature. Fill each glass with ice cubes, a slice of lemon, and a sprig of mint. Pour the tea over the ice and serve cold and sweetened with sugar if desired.
