Cook squash in boiling water until tender; drain and mash. Add onion, egg, salt and half of melted butter. Pour mixture into a greased 13"x9" baking pan. Sprinkle with crushed crackers; drizzle with remaining butter. Bake, uncovered, at 350 degrees for one hour.
