Frosted Raisin Bars

Ingredients

2 cups seedless raisins
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 1/2 cups sugar
3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup butter, softened
2 teaspoons cinnamon
1/8 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 eggs

Butter Frosting
2 cups powdered sugar
1/4 cup butter, melted
1/2 teaspoon salt

Directions:

Cover raisins with water in saucepan; bring to a boil. Let cool 20 minutes. Add enough water to raisin juice to equal 1 cup. Add baking soda. Add remaining ingredients all at once; stir till well blended. Spread very thin on 2 large, greased and floured cookie sheets. Bake at 350° for 15–18 minutes. Frost while hot.

For Butter Frosting:
Mix all ingredients well with enough water for spreading consistency. Spread over raisin bars while they are hot.
