Peach Refrigerator Cake

Ingredients

1 large chiffon cake
whipped cream

Filling:
1 (13-ounce) can evaporated milk
1 (26-ounce) can sliced peaches, undrained
1/2 cup sugar
1 (3-ounce) box orange jello
1 envelope unflavored gelatin

Directions:

Coat a 9x13-inch pan generously with butter. Break cake into bite-size pieces. Put in buttered pan. Layer cake pieces and Filling, starting with cake first. Frost with whipped cream. Chill.

Filling:
Put can of evaporated milk in freezer. Heat peaches with syrup and sugar and remove from heat. Add Jell-O and mix well. Add gelatin which has been softened in 1/4 cup water. Cool. Beat icy cold can of evaporated milk until whipped. Fold into peach mixture gradually.
