Fresh Apple Bundt Cake

Ingredients

Cake:
3 cups flour
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking soda
3 cups diced, peeled apples
1 cup chopped nuts
2 cups sugar
1 cup vegetable oil
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Topping:
1/2 cup butter, melted
1/4 cup sugar
1 tablespoon corn syrup
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
powdered sugar for sprinkling on top (optional)

Directions:

Cake:
Sift together flour, salt, and baking soda. Add rest of ingredients and mix together until blended. Spread into a greased and floured tube pan. Bake 1 hour and 15 minutes at 350°.

Topping:
Combine all ingredients except powdered sugar, and pour Topping down sides of hot cake while still in pan. Cool 30 minutes; remove from pan. Sprinkle top with powdered sugar, if desired.
