English Toffee Cookies

Ingredients

1 cup brown sugar
1 cup butter, softened
1 egg
2 cups flour
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
large Hershey's bar
1 chopped slivered almonds

Directions:

Cream sugar and butter. Stir in remainder of ingredients until blended and pat into 10x15-inch jellyroll pan. Bake at 350° 15 - 25 minutes until barely brown. Remove from oven. Breakup Hershey’s bar and put pieces on hot cookies and spread around as the chocolate melts. Sprinkle with almonds.
