Old-Fashioned Sugar Cookies

Ingredients

1 cup butter, softened
1 cup vegetable oil
1 cup granulated sugar
1 cup powdered sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 eggs
4 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon cream of tartar
1 teaspoon salt

Directions:

Thoroughly cream butter, vegetable oil, and both sugars. Add vanilla and eggs; beat well. Sift dry ingredients; stir in and blend.

Roll a teaspoon of dough into a small ball. Place on a lightly greased cookie sheet and press down with the bottom of a glass tumbler which has been dipped in sugar. Repeat with remaining dough. Bake 12 minutes in 375° oven.
