Candied Chicken

Ingredients

1 1/2 cups brown sugar
1/4 cup mustard
1/2 cup ketchup
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1/4 cup chopped onion
1/2 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup water
1/2 cup cornstarch
4 to 5 chicken breasts
1 tablespoon oil

Directions:

Preheat oven to 350°F.

Mix first six ingredients in a medium bowl.

Cut chicken into strips. Pour water and cornstarch each into two separate bowls. Place them side-by-side. Heat oil in a large saucepan set over medium-high heat. Dip chicken pieces into water and roll in cornstarch, coating the chicken. Brown in oil on stovetop. Don't worry if the chicken is cooked all the way through.

Place browned chicken in a 9 x 13-inch pan. Pour sauce over chicken. Reserving some sauce for basting.

Cover with foil, and bake for 1 1/2 hours. Turn and baste 2-3 times.

Serve with mashed potatoes or rice.
