Broiled Belgian Endives

Ingredients

2 Belgian endive
2 teaspoons olive oil
2 teaspoons tamari sauce
2 cloves garlic pressed
1 teaspoon minced fresh tarragon or 2 teaspoons minced garlic chives

Directions:

1. Clean the endives, removing any damaged outer leaves, and cut them in half lengthwise. Place cut-side up on an oiled baking sheet.

2. Combine the oil, tamari, and garlic in a cup or small bowl. Drizzle over the endives.

3. Place the endives under a preheated broiler for about 3 minutes, or until the tops start to brown. Turn over and broil for another 2–3 minutes, or until the other sides start to brown. Sprinkle with the tarragon or garlic chives and serve immediately.
