Cream of Corn Soup

Ingredients

1/2 cup bacon diced
1/4 cup onion chopped
1/4 cup flour
4 cups milk
1 (15-ounce) can cream style corn
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1/4 teaspoon celery salt (optional)

Directions:

Cook bacon in heavy saucepan over medium heat until almost crisp. Add onion cook until soft. Blend in flour, add milk cook and stir until thick and smooth. Add corn, bring to boiling point, season with salt and pepper, and serve. Makes 4 servings.
Note: Soup may be served with a spoonful of spiced whipped cream by combining 1/2 cup heavy cream and 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon and whipping until stiff.
