2 cups flour, stirred and measured
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon cloves
1/2 cup seedless raisins
1/2 cup walnuts chopped
1/3 cup butter
1 cup sugar
1 egg
1 cup applesauce
Line 24 cupcake pans with cupcake liners; set aside. In large bowl stir together flour, soda, salt, and spices; stir in raisins and nuts. In separate bowl cream together butter (or margarine) and sugar; add egg and beat until mixture is fluffy. Stir in applesauce alternately with dry ingredients. Fill prepared muffin pans 2/3 full. Bake at 375 degrees F. for 20 to 25 minutes. Cool and serve frosted or unfrosted, as desired. Makes 2 dozen cupcakes.
