Fresh Onion Dip

Ingredients

1 1/2 cups onions, grated
2 tablespoons butter
1 cup sour cream
1/4 teaspoon Kosher salt
1/4 teaspoon fresh ground pepper
1/8 teaspoon fresh ground cayenne pepper
1 1/2 teaspoons dried basil or 1 tablespoon fresh minced

Directions:

In a 8-inch or 10-inch Dutch oven, melt butter and add onions and sauté until lightly browned and tender, about 7 to 10 minutes. Place onions into a medium bowl and stir to cool about 15 minutes. Add remaining ingredients and stir until well combined and smooth. Chill at least 1 hour before serving.
