Most foods freeze well, although there are some that change unpleasantly in texture, flavor or appearance. Don't freeze salad greens, bananas, custard, mayonnaise, sour cream, mayonnaise and sour cream dressings, lunch meats, fried meats, hard-cooked egg whites and boiled frostings.
For best quality, use freezer wraps and containers designed specifically for maintaining the freshness, texture and color of frozen foods. Freezer paper, foil and heavy-duty plastic bags and plastic wraps will protect foods against cold air deterioration.
