Melt chocolate chips in microwave; stir until smooth, then allow to cool slightly. Beat egg whites until stiff but not dry. Gradually beat in sugar until stiff and satiny. Fold in cracker crumbs that have been finely crumbled in a food processor. Fold in chocolate and vanilla. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto greased baking sheets. Bake at 350° for 12–15 minutes.
