Raspberry Lemonade - Spiked or Not
I have raspberry bushes and they are loaded, ripe, and ready. I also have a Meyer Lemon tree that I keep in the house in the winter and move to the patio in the summer. What better thing to have than fresh, fresh lemonade for a summertime treat? If I have an abundance, I puree the raspberries, squeeze the lemons, add the sugar and freeze. When ready to serve, thaw and add the water.
Want it spiked? Try adding whiskey or vodka.
|3/4 cup||fresh or thawed frozen raspberries|
|2 cups||freshly squeezed lemon juice (about 12 lemons)|
|2 cups||superfine sugar|
|Spiked - Optional|
|whiskey, to taste|
|vodka, to taste|
Puree the raspberries in a blender and strain through a fine sieve into a pitcher. Add the remaining ingredients and whisk together until the sugar dissolves. Serve over ice.
Optional, add vodka or whiskey to taste for Spiked Raspberry Lemonaid.
