Ground Beef Barbecue

Serves: 6

1 1/2 pounds lean ground beef
1 onion, chopped
1/2 cup catsup
1/2 cup water
1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
1/4 cup red wine vinegar
1 tablespoon butter
1 tablespoon sugar
1 tablespoon mustard
1 teaspoon paprika
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
6 hamburger buns, split
Garnish: pickle slices


In a large saucepan over medium heat, combine all ingredients except buns and pickles. Bring to a boil; turn heat down to low. Simmer for one hour, stirring occasionally to break up beef. To serve, spoon onto buns; top with pickles.

Tip: At the end of the week, turn leftovers into a buffet-style meal. Set out individual servings of casseroles in pretty dishes, toss veggies into a salad and add a basket of warm rolls. Arrange everything on a counter...everyone is sure to come looking for his or her favorites!
