Walnuts in Sugar Syrup

Ingredients

1 cup light corn syrup
1 cup brown sugar, packed
3 tablespoons butter
1/2 cup milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 cups chopped walnuts

Directions:

In a heavy saucepan, bring corn syrup, brown sugar, butter and milk to a slow boil over medium heat, stirring well. Lightly boil for 5 minutes; remove from heat. Add vanilla and nuts, stir well and let cool. Keep refrigerated.

Tip: Set out a variety of ice cream toppings so everyone can choose their favorites…chopped nuts, shredded coconut, maraschino cherries, sliced bananas or strawberries and chocolate chips.
