1 cup unbleached flour
2 tablespoons barley flour
1 tablespoon granulated sweetener
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
2 tablespoons canola oil
1/2 cup nondairy milk
5 tablespoons sesame seeds

Preheat the oven to 350°F.

Stir together the dry ingredients in a small mixing bowl.

Add the oil and nondairy milk to the bowl of dry ingredients, and mix well. You can use your hands for the final mixing to make sure all the dry ingredients are blended into the liquid. This is a stiff dough.

Divide the dough into 12 pieces. Roll out each piece into a stick 6-7 inches long and ³??-¹?? inch wide. Narrow stickswill be crispier. Cut each stick in half, and roll in a shallow bowl of sesame seeds. Press the sticks firmly into the seeds so they become imbeddedinthedough. Place onanungreased cookie sheet, not touching each other. Bake for 25minutesuntil goldenbrown. Let cool and enjoy with a tasty soup. The sesame seeds will fall off if they are moved around a lot, but you can gather up the loose seeds and use them for garnish on your soup.
