Ingredients

4 ounces white chocolate, coarsely chopped
2 ounces semisweet baking chocolate, coarsely chopped

Directions:

Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Melt the white chocolate in one small heavy saucepan and the semisweet chocolate in another heavy saucepan, covered, over low heat, stirring occasionally. (The chocolates can also be placed in separate small dishes, covered with plastic wrap, and set on the hot plate of a coffeemaker. Turn the coffeemaker on and the chocolates will slowly melt. Stir occasionally. Or, place the chocolates in separate cups and cook in the microwave on high for 1 to 2 minutes, stirring every 30 seconds.)

Using a large spoon, drizzle the melted semisweet chocolate in a free-form lattice or zigzag design to cover a 10-inch square. Allow the chocolate to set for 1 minute. With a clean spoon, quickly drizzle the melted white chocolate over the semisweet chocolate. Gently spread the white chocolate with a metal spatula until it evenly covers the semisweet chocolate. Allow the chocolate to cool and harden completely for at least 1 hour.

Lift the chocolate with a small spatula and break off free-form triangles, or shards. Store the Marbleized Chocolate Shards in an air-tight container in the refrigerator or freezer for several days.
