Sweetbreads En Brochette

3 sweetbread, pairs
1 tablespoon dry white wine
6 slices bacon, cut into pieces
3 medium green peppers, cut in 1-inch squares
1/2 cup butter, melted
freshly ground black pepper
1 egg, beaten
1/2 cup bread crumbs
24 mushrooms caps
1/2 teaspoon salt
chateau sauce


Cut each parboiled sweetbread into 4 pieces, dip into egg beaten with wine, salt and pepper. Then dip into bread crumbs. Thread on skewers, alternating sweetbreads with bacon, mushrooms, and peppers. Broil under low heat, basting with melted butter, until golden brown. Serve with chateau sauce.
