1 large onion, chopped
1 large garlic clove, minced
3 tablespoons olive oil
1 pound Italian sausage
1 pound ground beef
8 ounces pepperoni
1 (32-ounce) jar spaghetti sauce
1 tablespoon oregano
1 tablespoon basil
1 (8-ounce) package lasagna noodles
1 (16-ounce) carton cottage cheese
3 ounces grated Parmesan cheese
1 large egg, beaten
1 (12-ounce) package shredded mozzarella cheese


Sauté onion and garlic in oil until onion is tender; do not burn garlic. Break sausage into chunks and add to pan. When sausage is partially cooked, add ground beef, and continue to cook. Cut pepperoni into small chunks and add when meat is done. Cook about 5 minutes. Add sauce, oregano, and basil; reduce heat, and simmer while preparing remaining ingredients.

Preheat oven to 350°. Cook noodles in large pot of water. Mix cottage cheese, Parmesan cheese, and egg in separate bowl. When noodles are done, lay 3 noodles in bottom of pan; layer 1/4 cheese mixture, then 1/4 meat mixture, and 1/4 sauce mixture. Then add layer of mozzarella cheese. Continue process until pan is full. Make sure top layer covers noodles so they will not harden in oven. Bake at 350° for approximately 30 minutes or until mixture boils around edges.
