Night Before Coffeecake

2/3 cup butter or margarine, softened
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
2 eggs
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup buttermilk
1/2 cup raisins, nuts, dates, or mixture of all three

Topping :
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 cup nuts
1 teaspoon nutmeg


Cream butter and sugars. Add eggs; mix. Mix together the dry ingredients. Alternately add flour and buttermilk to the creamed mixture. Add fruit and nuts. Pour into greased 9x13-inch pan.

For Topping:
Mix Topping ingredients together, and sprinkle over cake. Cover tightly with foil, and refrigerate overnight. Remove foil, and bake at 350° for 35–40 minutes
