Butter Rolls with Caramel Sauce

Ingredients

Butter Rolls :
1 1/2 cups self-rising flour
3/8 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup plus 2 teaspoons butter, divided
1/4 cup water
2 tablespoons sugar

Caramel Sauce:
1/2 cup plus 2 tablespoons butter
2 1/2 cups sugar
2 cups milk, warmed

Directions:

For Butter Rolls:
Sift flour and salt. Cut in 1/2 cup butter. Add water, and mix well. Divide into 2 portions. Roll each portion on a lightly floured board. Sprinkle each with 1 tablespoon sugar and dot with 1 teaspoon butter. Fold ends over, and roll lengthwise; cut each into 6 rolls. Place rolls in greased pan, cut side down, and bake at 400° for 20 minutes.

For Caramel Sauce:
Melt butter in iron skillet; add sugar. Let brown, then add milk. Stir vigorously and drizzle over warm rolls.
