Ginger Crinkles

Ingredients

3/4 cup margarine, softened
1 cup brown sugar
1 egg
1/2 cup molasses
2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking soda
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon cloves
2 teaspoons powdered ginger
1/2 teaspoon salt
sugar for coating cookie

Directions:

Cream margarine and sugar. Add egg, and beat well. Mix in remaining ingredients. Chill dough. Form into small balls, and roll in sugar. Sprinkle each ball with 2 or 3 drops of water to create crinkled effect. Bake at 375° for 12 minutes. Cool slightly before removing from cookie sheets.
