Cheese and Sage Biscuits

Ingredients

1 cup flour
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon ground sage
1/2 teaspoon sugar
1 dash pepper
2 tablespoons butter room temp.
2 tablespoons Monterey Jack cheese, shredded
1/4 cup evaporated milk

Directions:

In a bowl combine flour, baking powder, salt, sage, sugar and pepper. Cut in butter with pastry cutter. Add cheese and enough milk just till moistened. Turn dough onto lightly floured surface and knead. Roll out to 1/2 inch thick. Cut into 2-3 inch biscuits. Place on ungreased baking sheet. Bake at 450 for 8 - 10 minutes. Biscuits should be a golden color. Makes 8 biscuits.
