In a large pot combine lentils, water, ham bone, onions, salt, marjoram, pepper, and bay leaf. Cover and simmer for 1-1/2 hours, stirring occasionally.
Remove bone, cut off meat, and dice. Return meat to soup. Add carrots, celery, and parsley. Cover and simmer for 40 minutes. Divide into freezer containers, cover, label, and freeze.
To serve, heat frozen soup in a covered saucepan for about 30 minutes or until heated through. Stir occasionally. Season to taste with salt and pepper.
