Down-Home Pea Soup

Serves: 9

8 cups water
2 cups dried split peas
1 1/2 cups celery, sliced
1 1/2 cups carrots, peeled and sliced
1 onion, sliced
2 bay leaves
salt and pepper to taste
1 to 2 cup cooked ham, cubed


Combine all ingredients in a slow cooker. Cover and cook on low setting for 4 to 6 hours. Discard bay leaves before serving.
