Ingredients

1 to 3 (8-ounce) tube buttermilk refrigerator biscuits
3 cups vegetable oil

Maple Glaze
1 cup sugar free maple syrup
1 1/2 teaspoons cornstarch

Or your favorite flavor of sugar free jam or jelly
cinnamon or cocoa powder

Directions:

Preheat oil in an 8-inch Dutch oven over medium to medium-high heat. Open the can of biscuits and press a small hole in the center of each biscuit with your finger and gently stretch the hole out to resemble a donut. When the oil reaches 365°F, carefully slide 2 biscuit donuts into the hot oil. Lightly cook for 1 minute or until lightly golden brown, turn over with a chop stick or long turning fork. Fry 1 more minute. Remove from oil and drain on a bakers rack. Cover with sugar free jam or jelly or dust lightly with cinnamon or cocoa powder.

For maple flavored glaze, heat syrup to a simmer combine corn starch with 2 Tbs. cold syrup to make a paste. Add to hot syrup stir until well thickened. Dip donuts into glaze and serve warm.
