Hearty Zucchini Hors d'oeuvres

Ingredients

2 cups shredded zucchini, fresh or frozen, thawed
1 teaspoon salt (optional)
1/2 cup reduced-calorie mayonnaise or salad dressing
1/2 cup low-fat plain yogurt
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
4 scallion, thinly sliced
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1 clove garlic, minced
4 drops hot pepper sauce
48 slices or party rye bread or 32 French bread slices

Directions:

1. In a medium mixing bowl, stir together zucchini and salt. Let stand one hour. Drain rinse drain well, pressing out excess liquid.

2. Stir together zucchini, mayonnaise or salad dressing, yogurt, cheese, green onions, Worcestershire, garlic, and hot pepper sauce.

3. Spread 1 1/2 teaspoons of the zucchini mixture on each rye bread slice or 2 1/2 teaspoons of the zucchini mixture on each French bread slice.

4. Place on a baking sheet. Bake in a 375°F oven for 12 minutes. Serve immediately
