Tomato Meat Sauce

Ingredients

1 1/2 pounds ground beef
1 onion medium chopped
1 (1-pound) can tomato Italian
1 (15-ounce) can tomato sauce
1 (12-ounce) can tomato paste
1 (10 1/2-ounce) can tomato soup
1 (4-ounce) can mushrooms mushroom stems and pieces
4 tablespoons parsley chopped fresh parsley or 2 tablespoons dried flakes
1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
1 tablespoon oregano dried
1 teaspoon basil dried leaves
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon garlic minced
dash black pepper
Hot cooked pasta
Parmesan cheese Grated

Directions:

Sauté and stir ground beef and onion in large skillet until meat is brown and onion is tender. Drain off excess fat. Stir in remaining ingredients except hot cooked pasta and cheese. Cover simmer 2 to 5 hours, stirring sauce occasionally. Serve over hot pasta sprinkle with Parmesan cheese.

Note: Sauce can be eaten after 2 hours of simmering, but has a heartier Italian flavor when simmered a longer time. Can be made 2 days in advance.
