Pimiento Cheese Spread

1/2 pound cheddar cheese soup sharp, shredded
1/4 cup light cream
1 (2-ounce) jar pimiento, drained and very finely chopped
1/8 teaspoon salt


In small heavy saucepan combine cheese and light cream (evaporated milk may be substituted) cook, stirring constantly, over medium heat until cheese is melted and mixture is blended. Or microwave, using medium power, until melted, stirring every minute. Stir in pimiento season to taste. Refrigerate in covered jar. Makes enough filling for 4 sandwiches.
