Danish Puff

Ingredients

2 cups flour
1 cup butter real
2 tablespoons water ice
1 (16-ounce) can apple pie filling prepared
1 cup water
3 eggs
1/4 teaspoon almond extract
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 cup powdered sugar
2 tablespoons half and half
Few drops almond extract

Directions:

Combine 1 cup flour and 1/2 cup butter with a pastry blender. Add 2 tablespoons ice water and toss just to blend well. Divide in half. Pat each half out on an ungreased cookie sheet to form 2 strips, 12 x 3-inches. Spoon apple pie filling over each pastry. Boil remaining 1/2 cup butter with 1 cup water remove from stove. Quickly beat in remaining 1 cup flour until smooth. Add eggs, one at a time, almond extract, and vanilla beat well. Spread carefully over pastries. (Note: It may not cover completely.) Bake in a preheated 350° oven for 60 minutes until puffed and golden.

Frosting:
*Combine sugar, half-and-half, and almond extract beat until smooth. Spread on warm pastries and serve warm.
