Heavenly Hash Cake

1 cup sugar
8 tablespoons margarine
2 eggs
3/4 cup self-rising flour
1 cup chopped pecans
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
3 tablespoons cocoa
1 1/2 cups miniature marshmallows
2 tablespoons cocoa
2 tablespoons margarine
1/2 box powdered sugar
2 tablespoons evaporated milk (icing will be thin)


Cream sugar and margarine. Add eggs and other ingredients except marshmallows. Bake in buttered 9x9x2-inch pan, at 350° for 30–35 minutes. Test with toothpick. While cake bakes, make Icing.

Remove cake from oven and while cake is hot, pour marshmallows over cake to cover. When completely cooled, put icing on cake in pan. Cut in 36 squares (1 1/2 inches each).
