Apple Brownies

Ingredients

1/2 cup butter, softened
1 cup sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 egg, beaten
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
1 cup apples, cored, peeled and chopped
1/2 cup chopped nuts

Directions:

Beat together butter and sugar until fluffy; stir in vanilla and egg. In a small bowl, combine flour, baking soda, baking powder and nutmeg. Add flour mixture to butter mixture and mix thoroughly. Fold in apples and nuts. Spread in a greased 10"x10" baking pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 to 35 minutes. Cool and cut into squares.
