Ingredients

1 pound ground beef, turkey, venison, elk, etc
1/2 medium onion, diced
4 ounces sausages, any flavor
1 stalk celery, chopped
1 clove garlic, or 1-tsp granulated garlic
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 cup salsa
1 1/2 teaspoons Italian seasoning
1/2 cup cheese
1 (1-pound) loaf frozen white bread dough, thawed

Directions:

In a skillet, over medium heat, sauté together all the ingredients except, the cheese and dough, until meat is browned. Drain well, and set aside to cool, about 10 to 15 minutes.

Roll and flatten out the dough to a little more than ¼” thick, and about 12” to 14” round. Spread out the cheese in the center of the round dough, and pour the drained and cooled meat over the cheese. Preheat a well oiled 10” Dutch oven to about 350°F. Gather up the sides of the dough without tearing it and seal the meat inside by pinching the dough together. Carefully turn the stuffed bread over and place into the Dutch oven.

Bake for 35 to 45 minutes until the bread is firm and a nice light brown color when you can smell it. Remove from heat and let it rest for 10 minutes. Turn out onto a cutting board and slice into 1 ½” thick slices.
