Eating well means keeping your body healthy through the foods you eat. Making nutritious food selections, enjoying eating and maintaining a healthy body fit together. It takes some planning, but the payoff is well worth the effort.
You may have questions about which foods to eat now that you've been diagnosed with cancer. You may wish to consider these factors when making your food selections:
Choose foods you like. Eating will be easier if you're eating foods you like, even if it means eating for breakfast what you'd normally eat for dinner. If the food is appealing to you, enjoy it.
Select foods with healing nutrients. Potassium, calcium, iron and magnesium are nutrients beneficial for your body, especially during healing. For easy planning, the recipes in this cookbook list how much of each of these nutrients they contain.
Ask your doctor. For your particular type of cancer or treatment, there may be some do's and don'ts for success that others may have learned from past experiences. Check with your doctor to be sure you're on the right track.
