Butter Bean and Ham Soup

1/2 pound ham, ground or minced
1 medium onion, diced small
1 carrot, peeled and diced small
2 (16-ounce) cans butter beans, undrained
4 cups water


Sauté ham and onion a few minutes in stockpot. Add carrot, butter beans, and water. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer 30–60 minutes, or more.
