Ingredients

1 large (2-pound) beef flank steak
1/2 cup light soy sauce
3 tablespoons vegetable oil
2 medium onions, sliced
3 large cloves garlic, chopped
2 tablespoons minced fresh ginger root
2 tablespoons dark brown sugar
1/4 teaspoon hot pepper sauce
1/2 cup bourbon whiskey

Directions:

Trim all visible fat from flank steak. In a heavy-duty, gallon-size plastic bag with a zip top, mix together all marinade ingredients. Add steak. Refrigerate for at least 8 hours or as long as 24 hours.

Cook on a hot grill 8 minutes on the first side and 5 minutes on the second side for a medium-rare steak. Increase cooking time if a more well-done steak is desired. To serve, cut across the grain into 1-inch-wide strips.
