Amaretto Cake

Ingredients

1 ready-to-eat angel food cake (loaf or tube-type)
12 tablespoons amaretto, divided
1/2 gallon ice cream (any flavor)
large carton Cool Whip

Directions:

Split cake into 3 sections horizontally. Place first section on cake plate. Drizzle 3 tablespoons amaretto over cake. Cover with 2 inches of ice cream.

Place second section of cake on top of ice cream layer. Drizzle with 3 tablespoons of amaretto. Cover with 2 inches of ice cream. Place third section of cake on top of ice cream. Drizzle with 3 tablespoons of amaretto. Fold 3 tablespoons of amaretto into large carton of Cool Whip. Ice cake. Freeze.

Note: Amaretto keeps cake from freezing hard, so you can remove it from freezer and serve immediately.
