Onion Rings

Ingredients

2 large Spanish onions
1/2 cup flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
salt and pepper to taste
1 egg
1/2 cup milk
canola oil for frying
sea salt to taste

Directions:

Peel onions, cut into 1?4-inch-slice rounds and separate into rings.

In a bowl, combine the fl our, baking powder, salt, and pepper.

In a measuring cup, thoroughly whisk together the egg and milk. Add egg/milk mixture to the dry ingredients and blend well.

In a large, deep skillet, heat 1 inch of oil to 365 degrees. Fry onion rings in batches until golden brown, turning once to brown on both sides. Drain on paper towels and sprinkle with sea salt.
