Triticale Biscuits

Ingredients

2 cups unbleached flour
1/2 cup triticale flour
5 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
6 tablespoons safflower oil
1/2 cup buttermilk

Directions:

Heat oven to 450° F. Combine flours, baking powder, and salt. Stir in oil and buttermilk until well-blended. Pat dough out to 1/2 -inch thickness and cut into biscuits. Place on a greased cookie sheet with sides almost touching. Bake 10 to 12 minutes.

Note: For high altitude adjustment, use 3 1/2 to 4 teaspoons baking powder.
