Lemon Sauce


Serves: 8

Yield: 1 cup

Ingredients

1/2 cup sugar
1 tablespoon cornstarch
1 pinch salt
1 pinch nutmeg
1 cup boiling water
1 tablespoon butter
2 tablespoons lemon juice

Directions:

In a small saucepan, combine the sugar with cornstarch, salt and nutmeg. Gradually add the water, stirring with a wire whisk to blend thoroughly. Bring to a boil and simmer over low heat for 2 minutes, stirring constantly, until sauce is thick and clear. Add the butter and lemon juice and stir until well mixed. Keep warm until serving time.
