dried fruit compote


Serves: 5

Ingredients

1/4 cup water
4 pitted prunes or dried apricots
1/8 teaspoon lemon or orange zest (optional)
dash ground cinnamon

Directions:

Equipment:
measuring cups
file grater (Microplane brand; optional)
measuring spoons
small bowl
fork

Put all the ingredients in a small bowl and stir to combine. Let soak for 8 to 12 hours at room temperature. Mash lightly with a fork. Stored in a sealed container in the refrigerator, Dried Fruit Compote will keep for 3 days.
