Mix together sliced cucumber, onion, and salt. Mix with your hand to coat cucumber completely. Place in refrigerator and let stand at least 1/2 hour or longer.
Pour off liquid, squeezing pickles in your hand. Add sugar, vinegar, and pepper . Mix thoroughly and taste. If necessary, add a little more sugar and vinegar. Stir in sour cream and serve. You may also add a bit of dill weed, if desired.
